Welcome, Linguistic Luggernauts! 
Have we known this all along, or is everyone utterly blind to the fact that we humans and our leafy chums are all interconnected and utterly inseparable? We ‘R’ plants and plants ‘R’ us, and that’s all there is to it!
Apart from the pleasing point-of-view-flipping going on here, this meme really brings home our interdependence on everything else out there, and in particular, our green-foliaged friends.
Even if we attempt to content ourselves with meat-eating or dairy products, those animals themselves will have fed on plants in the first place.
Not to mention the oxygen-emitting (and carbon-absorbing) function also mentioned here. What goes around, comes around..!
